Agnes P. Weber, 84, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died peacefully Saturday, June 3, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2023, at St. Peter’s Church, Elk Grove, Wisconsin, with Rev. Luke Syse officiating. Family and friends may call from 1-1:45 p.m. Friday at the church prior to the service. Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is assisting the family.

Agnes was born on November 1, 1938, on a farm near Truman, Wisconsin, to Anton Edward and Anna Loretta (Johnson) Weber. She was the fifth of 13 children. Agnes moved to Benton with her family when she was an infant and when she was seven years old, they moved to a farm in New Diggings township. On the farm she had to work hard doing chores and milking cows by hand, but she loved working with the animals and the freedom of being on the farm. After high school, she moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. She loved Colorado but moved back to Wisconsin when her son was 5 years old and bought a 35-acre hobby farm in rural Cuba City where she raised beef calves and hogs while working a full-time job. Agnes knew the value of hard work. Her home had wood heat and she cut most of her own wood until she was 80 years old. In her 70’s she lamented that she was getting old because, when she reroofed her house, she had to break the bundles of shingles in half to get them on the roof! She loved animals and the outdoors, hiking, canoeing on the Wisconsin River and rock climbing at Devil's Lake. Agnes was a gifted artist and loved creating oil paintings of nature.

Agnes is survived by her son, Donald (Gail) Weber; her siblings, Alvina (Pat) Runde, Betty Wedig, Vernon (Myrt) Weber, Verdon (Linda) Weber, Dorothy Tranel, Homer Weber, Sandy (Mike) Alt, Joe (Linda) Weber, and Carolyn Fries; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Loretta Weber; brothers, Marvin Weber, Lawrence Weber, and Richard Weber; brothers-in-law, Art Wedig and Roger Fries; and sisters-in-law, Jane Weber, Mary Weber, Jan Weber, and Denise Weber.
