Hazel Green, Wisconsin Ann M. Wiest, 66, of 1580 Harry St., Hazel Green, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 22, 2012, at UW-Madison Hospital and Clinics in Madison. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kieler with Rev. Bernard Rott and Rev. Bart Timmerman officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center in Kieler where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the parish center before the service. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is in charge of arrangements. Ann was born on November 18, 1945, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the daughter of Paul and Esther (Timmerman) Berning. She married Gregory L. Wiest on September 24, 1966. She worked as a nurse at Medical Associates retiring in 1997. Ann received a lung transplant on July 9, 2008. She enjoyed crocheting, weaving, golfing, and gambling. Ann loved gardening, especially her flowers. She was the maker of the best chocolate chip pie. The love of her life was her family. Survivors include her husband, Greg; two sons, Michael (Lisa) and Kevin (Cindy), both of Rochester, Minnesota; three sisters, Jean Sisler, of Milwaukee, Adele (Mark) Hendricks, of Hazel Green, and Alice (Gary) Schmitt, of Kieler; a brother, Robert (Kathleen) Berning, of Ocala, Florida; a brother-in-law, Allan "Bear" Theill, of Cuba City; and three grandchildren, Lucas, Nicolas and Jacob Wiest. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul in 1991 and Esther in 2004; a sister, Sue Theill, in 2001; a brother, Kenny Berning, in 2005; and a brother-in-law, Roger Sisler, in 1985. An Ann M. Wiest Memorial Fund has been established. A special thank you to the UW Transplant Clinic especially Dr Richard Cornwell, Tiffany Mack, Donald Hawes and Kelly Radford.
