Benjamin J. Larson

May 14, 1978 — October 11, 2008

Ben was born on May 14, 1978 in Inchon, South Korea. He had two sisters and one brother while in Korea. His father died when he was five years old, and his mother placed them up for adoption to give them a chance at a better life. In 1984 he was adopted along with his two sisters by the Larson family and came over to live in the United States. He then had another sister and two brothers. Ben graduated from UW-Platteville with a BA in business administration and computer science. He worked as a financial advisor for Prudential Life. Ben was a very generous person with both his time and wealth. He was always surrounded by kids and animals. Children loved him. Ben will be greatly missed. Survivors include his parents Lee and Cheri Larson, of Platteville; his biological mother, Young Ryea Yoo, of Inchon, South Korea; three sisters, Lindy (Ron) Merritt, of Belleville, MI, Julie (Jon) Friedman, of Gurney, IL, and Beth (Ty) Daniels, of Brodhead, WI; two brothers, Andrew (Katie) Larson, of Houston, TX, and Jesse Larson, of Platteville; and six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bernice Larson and his biological father, Hyun Kook Hwang.
