Cassville, Wisconsin Bernice G. Stratton, 83, of Cassville, Wisconsin, formerly of Potosi, died Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Orchard Manor in Lancaster, Wisconsin. Services will be 12:00 noon Friday, May 3, 2019, at Queen of the Apostles Parish at St. Mary’s Church in Tomah with Msgr. Gilles officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tomah. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2019, at St. Andrew’s Church in Tennyson where the parish wake service will be at 3:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-11:45 a.m. Friday, May 3rd before the service at St. Mary’s Church in Tomah. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is serving the family. Bernice was born on February 29, 1936, in Tomah, Wisconsin, the daughter of James E. and Gertrude A. (Frederickson) Rowell. She married Leo R. Stratton Jr. on September 10, 1955, at St. Mary’s Church in Tomah. Together they owned and operated Stratton Buses from 1969 until 1993. Bernice was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed entertaining and working with people at the meal site. She also enjoyed sewing, reading, crocheting and quilting. Each of her 33 grandchildren received a quilt she made for them. Bernice loved traveling and joy rides in her convertible. There was always time for her to stop at any garage sale she passed. Her birthday was a special time. As a leap year baby she celebrated for a month in the years of her birthday. Survivors include her daughters, Kim (Andy) Loeffelholz, Potosi, Jeannie (Curt) Seng, Fennimore and Joanne (Rick) Jones, Knoxville, TN; her sons, Jim (Theresa) Stratton, Knoxville, TN, Steve (Jana) Stratton, Clearwater Beach, FL, and Russ (Tammy) Stratton, Cuba City; a sister, Mary Lou Burrington, Eau Claire; a brother, Clarence Rowell, Eau Claire; 33 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 24 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; a daughter, Vickie; two brothers, Asa and Jesse Rowell; and nine brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. In lieu of plants and flowers a Bernice G. Stratton Memorial Fund has been established.
