Bernice H. Hinderman

Dickeyville, Wisconsin Bernice H. Hinderman, 87, of Dickeyville, Wisconsin, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Holy Ghost Church in Dickeyville, with Rev. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Monday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the church before the service. Bernice was born on May 30, 1925, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Bernard and Katherine (Jansen) Hartung. She married Dennis V. Hinderman on February 20, 1946, at Holy Ghost Church in Dickeyville. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2007. Bernice was four years old when her mother, Katherine, died. She was a very active farm wife and worked in the bakery at UW-Platteville for nine years. Bernice enjoyed playing bingo and loved her cats and animals in general Survivors include three daughters, Ruth (Dave) Hying, of Platteville, Marilyn (Rick) Hollander, of Peosta, and Jane (Alan) Cordts, of Livingston; two sons, Richard (Patricia) Hinderman, of Cuba City, and Gene (Edith) Hinderman, of Potosi; eleven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren with another on the way. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Katherine (Jansen) Hartung; her stepmother, Adeline (Reuter) Hartung; and her sisters, Kathryn Osborn, and Lorena and Alverna, both in infancy. The family would like to thank the Cuba City Nursing Home staff especially those nurses and caregivers in the Reflections Unit, for the outstanding care Bernice received while there.
