Hazel Green, Wisconsin Beverly D. Charlson, 73, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is assisting the family. Beverly was born on July 2, 1948, in Spencer, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Sophie (Shelwick) Steven. She was raised in rural Emmons, Iowa and Walters, Minnesota. She graduated from Kiester High School and Rio Solado Community College, completing her internship at the Arizona Department of Behavioral Health. Bev worked in business accounting and computer management, as well as owning her own print shop, before earning her degree. She was active in many organizations including Kiwanis International, Professional Business Women, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, VFW Auxiliary, Myositis Association and Faith Lutheran Church. For many years, she served as a youth sports coach and camp leader. Bev loved volunteering as a computer teacher to seniors, and helping at both the Benton Bible Community Thrift Store and Benton Bible Food Pantry. Bev’s big love was softball (fast and slow pitch, co-ed and coaching), followed by camping with her kids, computer graphics and being around people. Survivors include her son, Brad (Tania) Charlson, Bradenton, FL; daughter, Nicole Charlson, Salem, OR; two sisters, Sheryl Engelby, Kiester, MN, and Donna (Cubby) Butler, Woodruff, WI; two brothers, Wayne Steven, Alden, MN, and John (Linda) Steven, Alton, IA; aunts, Donnabelle Smith & Dolores Stroud; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Richard Engelby; and several aunts and uncles. The family wishes to thank Linda Holmer for her special care.
