Brad A. Bass

Platteville, Wisconsin Brad A. Bass, 49, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died Saturday, July 23, 2011, at UW Hospitals and Clinics in Madison as the result of a motorcycle accident. Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City with Pastor Nelson Perkinson officiating. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home before the service. Brad was born on October 18, 1961, in Lancaster, Wisconsin, the son of Marshall J. and Florabelle (Kjos) Bass. He worked as a mechanic at Rich’s Petro Shop in Cuba City. Brad liked to hunt and fish, and enjoyed working on and riding his Harley. He was very meticulous in his work. He custom painted Harley Davidsons for friends and family. Brad had a very friendly smile like his mother’s. When he smiled he brightened up the room; his laugh was contagious. Brad will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include two sons, Andy Bass, of Cuba City, and Casey Bass, of Dubuque; his brothers and sisters, Charlotte (Bill) Boyles, of Arkansas, Marshall G. “Slug” (Georgia) Bass and Becky (John) Palfrey, both of New Diggings, Marsha “Suzy” Harrison and Robin Bass, both of Dubuque, Ronald (Teri) Bass, of Lone Rock, Joseph Bass and Mylene, of Platteville, and Jerry Bass and Cathy, of Blue River; his former wife, Susan Simon, of Cuba City; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; his nephew and best friend, Todd Leifker; and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty Kay and Barbara Ellen; two brothers, Charles “Butch” Martell and Wayne Allen; a nephew, Jamie Harrison; and a niece, Peggy Sue Harrison. In lieu of flowers a Brad A. Bass Memorial Fund has been established.
