Burial will be in the Shawnee Cemetery in New Diggings, Wisconsin. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Benton is in charge of arrangements. Catherine was born on March 21, 1916, in Little Black Township, Wisconsin, the daughter of Vincent and Rosa (Barbeau) Boehlen. She married Francis LaVitte Robbins on July 5, 1935, in New Diggings, Wisconsin. He was employed as a civil engineer for the US Department of Agriculture. They lived in Coon Valley, Highland, Durand, Barron, Spooner, and Benton. After Francis’s retirement they took their motor home and spent October to April traveling in the south, southwest and southeastern United States. After years of traveling during these months they decided to settle in McAllen, Texas, for the winter. They also took several trips to Canada with their daughter during the summer months. Francis preceded her in death on October 16, 1995. Catherine was a devoted and caring wife, mother and grandmother. As a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and preparing delicious and nutritional meals. One of her hobbies was looking for new recipes to test on her family. She enjoyed sewing and made outfits for her daughter and herself and special items for the home. This is how she spent her time before arriving at the Waunakee Manor. Catherine was an active member of the church in the communities in which they lived, a member of the choir, and the Women’s Society in which she served several terms as president. She attended monthly Church Circle meetings and met with the church quilting group every Thursday. Survivors include her daughter, Audrey Mae Lehman, of Sun Prairie; four grandchildren, Xynta Svoboda, Darrell (Kris) Lehman, Phillip (Judy) Lehman and Zachary Lehman; five great-grandchildren, Patrick Lehman, Jonathan Lehman, Julius Svoboda, Brent Lehman and Drew Lehman; three great-great-grandchildren, Reece Lehman, Eric Lehman and Kenneth Lehman; and a sister, Mildred Young, of Rogers, Arkansas. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lawrence and Tommy. The family wishes to thank Dr. Siebers at the UW Health East Clinic Madison, the Waunakee Manor and its entire staff for the loving care they gave mother and Pastor Sharon Cook of Cross Roads United Methodist Church of Waunakee.
