Clair L. Kieler

Hazel Green, Wisconsin Clair L. Kieler, 90, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, died Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2013, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sinsinawa with Rev. Francis Steffen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 1:45 p.m. Clair was born on May 20, 1923, in Kieler, Wisconsin, the son of Charles and Josephine (Kunkel) Kieler. He married Joan T. Budden on February 23, 1949. He farmed in the Kieler and Hazel Green area all of his life. His five sons all carry on in the agricultural industry. Mark farms in Darlington, Mike (Kathy) is a large animal veterinarian in Spring Green, Matt (Joan) is a technician at Accelerated Genetics in Hazel Green, Carl farms in Hazel Green, and John (Linda) farms in Hazel Green. Clair was actively helping on John’s farm feeding calves and cows up until his 90th birthday. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting deer in Wisconsin with his sons and grandsons and trips hunting mule deer in Wyoming. Joan and Clair enjoyed traveling and watching the Packers. Clair was also fond of fishing trips with his sons and grandkids as well as babysitting his two youngest grandsons, Jacob & Luke. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Kenny Kieler, of Darlington, Joey Kieler, of Platteville, Heidi (Jeff) Ferguson, of Boston, MA, Ashley Kieler, of Madison, Dan (Molly) Kieler, of Hazel Green, Jenny (Eric) Salis, of Potosi, Nathan (Ashley) Kieler, of Belmont, Katelyn Kieler, of Hazel Green, Jacob Kieler, of Hazel Green, and Luke Kieler, of Hazel Green; one great-grandchild, Hallie Salis; one brother, Floyd Kieler, of Tennyson; and one sister, Mary Ann Melssen, of Dickeyville. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Margie, Ambrose, Andy, Charles, Harvey and Jimmy.
