Benton, Wisconsin Connie C. Brown, 63, of Benton, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at UW-Hospital in Madison. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015, at St. Patrick's Church in Benton with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the Primitive Methodist Cemetery in Benton. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home before the service. Connie was born on June 18, 1951, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the daughter of Edward and Betty Jane (Cragg) Schuchart Sr. She married Merlin "Murph" Brown on July 20, 1974, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1997. Connie worked for 15 1/2 years at Advance Transformers in Platteville and 7 1/2 years at Walnut Hollow in Dodgeville until she became sick. She was a Packer and Badger fan and enjoyed family time and watching TV. Connie was a lung transplant recipient who fought long and hard to the end. Survivors include her daughter, Jodi (Jason) Helin and children Amber, Jennifer and Alicia, of Dodgeville and John (Tanya Haffele) Brown and daughter Olivia, of Benton; Joe's daughter, Jillian Brown, of Cuba City; her stepmom, Maxine Schuchart, of Delavan; a sister, Deb (Darwin "Boo") Kurth, of Hazel Green; five brothers, JR (Deb Spillane) Schuchart, of Cuba City, John (Mary) Schuchart, of Jacksonville, Florida, Ron (Julie) Schuchart, of Cuba City, Rick (Diana) Schuchart, of Hazel Green, and Dave (Lori) Schuchart, of Cuba City; a stepsister, Joanne Anderson, of Delavan; her uncle, Bob (Mary Jane) Cragg, of Cuba City; and her in-laws, Shirley (Roy) Colson, Patsy (Ron) Lovelace, Jean Pelton, Elden (Judy) Brown, Ray (Lola) Brown, Joan Brown, and Phil (Gail) Fields. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joe; her nephews, Chris and Brad Schuchart; her mother-in-law, Thelma Brown; and her brother-in-law, Donnie Brown. A Connie C. Brown Memorial Fund has been established. A special thanks to the UW-Hospital staff especially Dr. Sonetti, coordinator Don Hawes, social worker Khanh Oberley and the nurses on Unit B4/5.
