David C. Kane

Benton, Wisconsin

David C. Kane, 76, of Benton, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, December 23, 2022, at home. There will be a private family funeral service. Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Benton is assisting the family.

David was born on June 2, 1946, in Cuba City, Wisconsin, the son of Wilton and Ione (Grimm) Kane. He graduated from Cuba City High School and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1965-1969 during the Vietnam War. He married Donna F. Piper on August 16, 1986. She preceded him in death on November 20, 2019.

David was employed as a parts quality inspector at Flexsteel and then Hy Pro. He was a jack of all trades, always working on fixing things. David enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and hunting, especially coyotes. He also enjoyed driving to visit with area farmers.

Survivors include two daughters, Amber Kane, Benton, and Sarah (Nick) Breitenfeldt, Watertown, WI; three grandchildren, Willow Kane, Wyatt and Miley Breitenfeldt; a sister, Darlene Ryan, Dodgeville, WI; and a sister-in-law, Judy Kane.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Beverly (Tom) Loomis; and two brothers, Dorrance Kane and Jerry (Rose) Kane.

The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Croix Hospice, especially Emily, the Benton First Responders, and David’s close neighbors and friends for their care and support.
