David L. Probst, 79, of Benton, Wisconsin, died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Southwest Health Center Hospital in Platteville. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at St. Patrick’s Church in Benton with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Benton. Friends may also call from 9:30-10:15 Wednesday at the church before the service. David was born on August 25, 1930, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the son of Ambrose and Gertrude (Doyle) Probst. He graduated from Benton High School in 1948. David served in the USAF Security Service from 1953 until he retired in 1979. He married Liwayway “Rosie” V. Limin at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Taipei, Taiwan on May 17, 1972 with Father Edward Kucera officiating. His stateside assignments were at March AFB, CA and Kelly AFB, TX. His overseas assignments were in the Philippines, Taiwan, Germany, Japan and Scotland. Survivors include his wife Liwayway “Rosie”, of Benton; three loving daughters, Rose (Scott) Borroughs, of Stoughton, Michelle (Josh) Schaalma, of Fond du lac, and Mary (Erik) Filipowicz, of Madison; a sister, Mary (David) Lawrence, of Shullsburg; three brothers, William Probst and Richard (Clara) Probst, both of Shullsburg, and Donald Probst, of Maryland; a sister-in-law, Theresa Probst, of South Milwaukee; ten grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul; and a grandson, Bradley Probst.
