Hazel Green, Wisconsin Dennis L. Lee, 68, of Hazel Green, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013, following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Dennis passed away at home in the loving arms of his family. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Hazel Green, with Pastor Rod Johnson officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City. Friends may also call from 9-10:15 a.m. Saturday at the church before the service. Dennis was born December 23, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Howard and Geraldine Jones Lee. He graduated from the former Hazel Green High School in 1963 and spent four years in the United States Air Force. Following his discharge, Dennis graduated from UW-Platteville with high honors and a double degree in Business and Economics. He was a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, an honor society in economics; the Masonic Lodge; and the American Legion. Dennis was a painfully honest, loyal and dependable man. Over the course of his adult life he lived in New Zealand, Chile, Colorado, Michigan, Florida, Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin and made life-long friends wherever he went. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, golf, camping, motorcycles, boating, and travel. He truly valued the time he spent with his friends and customers. Dennis was in Regional Sales with Mulehide Roofing Products of Beloit and spent much of his time traveling over five states. Dennis never said a disparaging word about another person and the only thing that made him deeply angry was an improperly prepared over-easy egg. His wry sense of humor and quiet faith will be remembered by everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Becky Glasson Lee; a daughter, Erika Lee Hawkinson (Brad), of Van Nuys, CA.; a son, John (Wing-Yee), of Gardena, CA; a brother, Ronald Lee, of Twin Falls, ID; and numerous nieces and nephews. He had one grandson, Samuel Lee Hawkinson, of Van Nuys, CA and a granddaughter on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Geraldine Lommen. A Dennis L. Lee Memorial Fund has been established. The family wants to express their deepest gratitude to Hospice of Dubuque, especially his nurse, Kellie; Pastor Rod Johnson and all of Dennis’s friends for their unfailing love and support over the past two years.
