Cuba City, Wisconsin Diane I. Tranel, 57, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home before the service. Diane was born on April 29, 1957, in Cuba City, Wisconsin, the daughter of James C. and Eleanor L. (Myers) Hinderman. She married Kenneth J. Tranel on November 22, 1975, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City. She worked in housekeeping at the Cuba City Nursing Home. Diane enjoyed baking, crocheting, dancing and working in her flower garden. She loved road trips with Ken and time spent with her grandchildren who were the light of her life. Survivors include her husband, Ken; six children, Jolene (Joe) Gross, of Blanchardville, Jacob (Karissa) Tranel, of Bloomington, Kate (Kyle) Barth, of Cuba City, Kellie Tranel-Stephenson, of Hazel Green, Jed (fiancee Sarah Pickel) Tranel, of Dickeyville, and Kevin (Kristen) Tranel, of Whitewater; her mother, Eleanor Hinderman, of Platteville; three sisters, Linda (Dan) Osterhaus and Carolyn (Mike) Bierman, both of Bloomington, and Rose (Jim) Bierman, of Lancaster; and thirteen grandchildren with one on the way due in September. She was preceded in death by her father, James Hinderman; a brother, James B. Hinderman; her father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Florence Tranel; a godchild, Danielle June Osterhaus; and two brothers-in-law, John Moorman and Dave Schneider. A Diane I. Tranel Memorial Fund has been established. Diane's family would like to thank Dr. Mark Juckett and the staff at Carbon Cancer Center of UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison and the great hospice nurses of Upland Hills Hospice Center.
