Cuba City, Wisconsin Donald C. Donohoo, 94, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Sunday, August 7, 2016, at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 3:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church before the service. Don was born on June 7, 1922, in Cuba City, Wisconsin, the son of Dillon and Mame (McKenna) Donohoo. He graduated from Cuba City High School in 1940 and then attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, and Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Don served in World War II in the European Theater and met his wife, Jean Talbert, while stationed in Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, Indiana. Don and Jean married on February 8, 1945, in Paris, Texas. Don and Jean were married 65 years and she was the love of his life. They enjoyed dancing and many trips abroad. Don and his brother Sam purchased Donohoo Furniture Company from their mother in April of 1947 and he continued to operate the business until July 31st of 1995. He served as president of the Wisconsin Retail Furniture Association. He also worked at many different furniture and floor covering stores after closing Donohoo's but his last employment was with Oak Street Furniture in Dubuque for 11 years. He was a lifetime member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, serving as a commentator, Eucharistic Minister, and Religious Education Teacher. Don was a charter and lifetime member of the Cuba City Chamber of Commerce and past secretary of the Cuba City Lions Club. He also was a past member of the Board of Directors of Southwest Health Center in Platteville. Don also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the Adult Education Board at Sinsinawa Mound. His hobbies included working on the computer at the library and dancing. Don was a kind hearted and compassionate man. He was hardworking and a great inspiration to all. Surviving are two sons, Ray (Sandy) Donohoo, of Glendale, WI, and Jerry Donohoo, of Madison, WI; two daughters, Darlene (Dan) Wallace, of Mineral Point, WI, and Sharon Donohoo, of Shullsburg, WI; a special friend of the family, Mary Foley; four grandchildren, Colleen, Heather, Chelsey and Dustin; and six great-grandchildren, Evan, Emily, Matthew, Brianna, Angie and Stephanie. Don is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; his parents; four brothers, Sam, Ade, Fidel and Stan Donohoo; one sister, Mary Gallagher; a grandson, Matthew Donohoo; a granddaughter, Stephanie Wallace; and an infant son, Sam Donohoo.
