Cuba City, Wisconsin Donald J. "Beanie" Loeffelholz, 76, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, passed away July 13, 2018, at home with family at his side. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in Cuba City with Pastor Hee Kwon Jung officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Platteville. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City. Friends may also call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Thursday at the church before the service. Beanie was born on January 1, 1942, in Cuba City, Wisconsin, to John and Colette (Staver) Loeffelholz. He graduated from Cuba City High School in 1960 and UW-Platteville in 1964 with a BS in Mining Engineering. He entered the Air Force as a radar controller and spent his overseas assignment in South Korea. After five years in the Air Force he was hired by the Peter Kewit Company in Omaha, NE, as an engineer to do cost estimates for bridges and tunnels. He married the love of his life, Betty J. Wilson, on October 9, 1971. He was co-owner of Loeffelholz Plumbing & Heating with his brother, Jim, until he retired. Beanie enjoyed computers and other electronics; he also enjoyed sharing his love of these with his kids and his grandkids. He created picture CD's for many of the weddings he attended, and he enjoyed working with the City of Presidents by creating historical CD's and helping at the caboose. Beanie is survived by his wife, Betty J. (Wilson) Loeffelholz; children, Dana (Darron) Mitchell, of Cuba City, Mary Colette (Tom Stowell) Loeffelholz, of Dodgeville, Kurt (Mackenzie Arndt) Loeffelholz, of Galena, IL; grandchildren, Tristan Retzki, of Fort Bliss, TX, and Morgan Retzki and Kynan Mitchell, both of Cuba City; siblings, Joan Wright and Jim (Pat) Loeffelholz, both of Cuba City, Bob Loeffelholz, of Dubuque, IA, Susan (Paul) Droessler, of Stoughton, and Lynn (Ron) Deiter, of Ames, IA; and a brother-in-law, Bill Wetter, of DeForest. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Loeffelholz, Sr. and Colette (Staver) Loeffelholz; a brother, John Loeffelholz Jr.; and two sisters, Becky Wetter and Debbie Loeffelholz.
