Kieler, Wisconsin Donald L. Gieseman, 78, of Kieler, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at The Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kieler with Rev. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Key West. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Friday at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center in Kieler where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the parish center before the service. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is in charge of arrangements. Don was born on October 9, 1934, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Carl L. and Marjorie (Bushman) Gieseman. He married Mary Agnes Banfield on August 10, 1957, in Dubuque. She preceded him in death on March 31, 2003. Don was employed at Minnesota Furniture and worked for George Banworth for 56 years. Don took his family and grandchildren fishing and woodcutting. He enjoyed gathering the family together for fish frys, cooking and canning. He enjoyed boating and his fishing trips to Missouri with his fishing buddies. Don taught his children and grandchildren life lessons and how to appreciate the "simple things." He made every Valentine's Day, Christmas and birthday special for his girls. Don was a firm believer in the rosary and was a member of the Power of Prayer in Dubuque. Survivors include five daughters, Sue Casper, of Dubuque, IA, Judy (Ron) Ginter, of Oconomowoc, WI, Patty (Jerry) Loeffelholz, of Louisburg, WI, MaryEllen (Jim) Wiederholt, of Hazel Green, and JoAnn (Scott) Kuhl, of Ellsworth, WI; two brothers, Raymond, of El Cajon, CA, and Al, of Cedar Rapids, IA; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents; a grandson, Jeffery Casper; and two brothers, Bob and Joe. A Donald L. Gieseman Memorial Fund has been established. A special thank you to Don's doctors, Dr. Dall, Dr. Cao, and Dr. Coyne, who have given him many years of special care and nurses Gloria and Tony in ICU and The Finley Hospital staff.
