Platteville, Wisconsin Donald R. Banister, 28, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died Friday, February 26, 2016, at Grant Regional Center in Lancaster. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City with Rev. Bill Vasey officiating. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home before the service. Donald was born on June 2, 1987, in Platteville, Wisconsin, the son of Dolores D. Banister. He worked as a farm laborer. Donald was a free spirit who had a smile that lit the room up. His witty personality was by far a characteristic that everyone enjoyed to be around. He enjoyed music, making people laugh, playing with his son and stepchildren, and of course, his fiancée. He enjoyed fishing and lending a hand to those who needed it. He was a loyal friend, a baby brother, a son, a father, a nephew, a grandson, an uncle and so many things more. He will be missed by many. Survivors include his fiancée, Mikki Haight, of Potosi; a son, Daymein Banister; two stepchildren, Aiden and Harper Walsh; a sister, Amanda Jones, of Platteville; and his aunts and uncles, Virginia "Ginnie" and Mike Gushulak, of Hazel Green, Leonard and Patty Banister, of New Diggings, Linda Homer, of Hazel Green, and Lisa and Patrick Burchfield, of Shullsburg. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Watson.
