Douglas L. Hilvers

Benton, Wisconsn Douglas L. Hilvers, 84, of Benton, Wisconsin, died Sunday, January 6, 2013, at home. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City with Howard Silberman officiating. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Doug was born on January 21, 1928, in Grant County, Wisconsin, the son of Luverne and Elva (Willey) Hilvers. He married Ruth Heil on September 18, 1948, in Cuba City. Doug served in the US Navy. He was a former Ford dealer and school bus owner/operator in Cuba City. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Cheryl (Howard) Hilvers Silberman, of Milwaukee; a daughter-in-law, Chris Hilvers, of Cuba City; a sister, Helen Landvik, of Milwaukee; four grandchildren, Tim (Michelle) and Ryan (Amy) Hilvers, Rachel (Adam) Kruse and Adam (Erica) Silberman; and seven great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jonathan, Kailey, Cole, Paige and Grace Hilvers, and Skyler Kruse. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Bruce, on February 8, 2010. Donation will be given to Hospice of Dubuque.
