Cuba City, Wisconsin Eileen A. Simon, 89, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 11, 2013, at her daughter's home in Flagstaff, Arizona. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish and Catholic Daughters rosary will be at 3:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-9:45 a.m. Thursday at the church before the funeral mass. Eileen was born on June 23, 1923, in Elk Grove Township, Wisconsin, the daughter of Charles and Carrie (Burke) Hoppenjan. She married Jerome Simon on February 9, 1943. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2005. After graduating from high school, Eileen attended and graduated from Business College in Janesville, Wisconsin. She then worked for Kellner Hardware in Cuba City. After marrying, she and Jerome farmed near Cuba City and had a construction business and later a Fish Market. After moving into Cuba City, Eileen worked in the housekeeping department at the Cuba City Nursing Home. Eileen was a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #4. Being an avid card player, she was in several card clubs. Eileen enjoyed many years traveling the United States, Canada and Mexico with her husband in their motor home. Eileen enjoyed entertaining. She was known for her graciousness, hospitality and splendid cooking. Everyone looked forward to her cream puffs at family gatherings and any event in the community. She will be remembered for her kindness to others and the lady with the beautiful smile. Survivors include three daughters, Kay (Greg), Janet (Monte), and Joan (Brett); two sons, Ken and Jim (Lisa); four sisters, Ann Marie Riechers, Mary Mildred (Dick) Sorensen, Florence Segerstrom, and Jean (Terry) Cleary; two brothers, Charles Hoppenjan and Robert (Renee) Hoppenjan; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Simon; a son-in-law, David Sewall; a daughter, Karen Sewall; a grandson, Chad Simon; a sister-in-law, Esther Hoppenjan; a brother, Richard Hoppenjan; and a sister, Joyce Hoppenjan.
