Elizabeth A. Kern

Cuba City, Wisconsin Elizabeth A. “Betty” Kern, 86, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Saturday, December 24, 2011, at home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Monday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City and from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home before the service. Betty was born on August 8, 1925, in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Barbara (Kippes) Dieser. She married Albert K. Kern on May 7, 1949. Betty was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Betty loved flowers, playing cards and traveling. Survivors include her husband, Al; two sons, Michael A. (Roberta) Kern, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Gregory A. (Kate) Kern, of Cuba City; a son-in-law, Charles Stewart, of Cuba City; a sister, Madeline Filer, of Tampa, Florida; three brothers, Joe (Margaret) Dieser, of Austin, Minnesota, Adam (Cheryl) Dieser, of Austin, Minnesota, and Pete Dieser, of Park Rapids, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Christopher (Kara) Kern, Kevin (Mary) Kern, Stacey (Steve) Steinhoff, Kyle Kern, Ryan Kern and Alex Stewart. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Diane M. Stewart; a son, Michael J. Kern; two granddaughters, Michelle and Malinda Kern; two great-grandsons, Jack and Gage Kern; four sisters, Mary Radloff, Barbara Dieser, Kate Reier and Ann Simon; and four brothers, John, Henry, George and Albert Dieser. A Betty Kern Memorial Fund has been established.
