Cuba City, Wisconsin Elizabeth M. "Liz" Van De Wiel, 95, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home before the service. Liz was born on June 19, 1918, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of George and Mary (Kunkel) Kieler. She married Gerald "Jerry" Van De Wiel on May 14, 1940, in Kieler. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1991. Liz was a Red Cross volunteer and donor, giving 5 gallons of blood. She worked in the St. Rose Grade School Lunch Program for 15 years retiring in 1983. Liz was a member of the St. Rose Council of Catholic Women. Liz loved all children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family and her faith were important. Survivors include six daughters, Marilyn (Gerald) Berning, of Cuba City, Rita (Thomas) Wedig, of Belmont, Jerri Lou Schardt, of Belvidere, Illinois, Joan (Robert) Ramaker, of Cuba City, Ruth Ann (Tim) Ausloos, of Fond du Lac, and Elizabeth Van De Wiel, of Madison; two sons, John (Ann) Van De Wiel, of Cuba City, and Steve (Carolyn) Van De Wiel, of Platteville; three sisters, Sylvia Wedig, of Belmont, Louise Kieler, of Dubuque, and Sr. Angeline Kieler OSF, of Lancaster; a brother, Lawrence (Ruth) Kieler, of Platteville; a sister-in-law, Bernice Kaiser, of Kieler; 24 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by a son, David, on April 3, 1982; a great-grandson, Cory Adams; a son-in-law, Eldon Schardt; two brothers, Ed and Joe Kieler; a sister, Catherine Loeffelholz; a sister-in-law, Mary Kieler; and two brothers-in-law, Wallace Wedig and Vincent Loeffelholz.
