Cuba City, Wisconsin Ellen A. Willis, 69, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at home. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the funeral home. Ellen was born on October 30, 1940, in Shullsburg, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph Dorian and Mary Helen (Middendorf) Kennedy. She married Robert John Willis on August 30, 1968, in Galena, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2000. Ellen was well known for her handmade rugs and quilts, and her knitting and crocheting, but her true passion was gardening with her two dogs, “Lady Jane” and “Fluffy Lou.” She was also a strong believer in family; she never missed a chance to tell her loved ones how much she loved them. Ellen was a caring friend who was always willing to help others. She found great joy in her grandchildren, Ashely, Macayla, Allison, Bailey, Destiny, Brittnee, Justin and Brandon. Survivors include three sons, Thomas H. (Kandi) Willis, of Shullsburg, Andrew B. (Lynne) Willis, of Hazel Green, and Jack Kennedy of Minnesota; three sisters, Karen (Charles) DuBord, of Hanover, IL, and Viola (Dennis) Tranel and Patricia (Jack) Wideman, both of Cuba City; two brothers, John J. Kennedy, of Cuba City, and Francis E. Kennedy, of Galena, IL; and eight grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph D. Kennedy Jr. and Bernard C. Kennedy; and a sister, Mary Atkinson.
