Eric A. Lyons

Cuba City, Wisconsin Eric A. Lyons, 38, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Saturday, November 7, 2015, of natural causes at Southwest Health Center Hospital in Platteville. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 1-7 p.m. Monday at the church. Friends may also call from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is in charge of arrangements. Eric was born on June 18, 1977, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Michael E. "Mike" and Geralynn I. "Jeri" (Schroeder) Lyons. He married Tracy Glynn on June 18, 2011. Eric graduated from Cuba City High School in 1996, and from Black Hawk Tech in 1998. He began his police career in Darlington, was police chief in Hazel Green, and was currently Police Commander in the Cuba City Police Department. Eric was also an assistant high school football coach at Hazel Green and Cuba City. He enjoyed taking road trips with his wife, Tracy and loved hanging out with his son, fishing, and riding his Harley Davidson. Eric had a great sense of humor. Survivors include his wife, Tracy, of Cuba City; a son, Jonathon Lyons, of Cuba City; three stepchildren, Ashley Dixon and Katlynn Templeton, both of Platteville, and Gage Glynn, of Hazel Green; his mother, Geralynn "Jeri" Lyons, of Cuba City; two sisters, Bridgitt (Steve) Zielke, of Kohler, and Heidi (Steve) Staskal, of Livingston; two brothers, Mike (Helene) Lyons Jr, of Oberthal, Germany, and Brent (Sally) Lyons, of Dickeyville; two step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Mike. An Eric A. Lyons Memorial Fund has been established.
