Ervin William Rupnow

August 7, 1921 — October 1, 2008

Erwin was born on August 7, 1921, in Monroe, Wisconsin, the son of Emil and Mary (Meythaler) Rupnow. Erwin worked as cheese maker in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin for many years and was employed as a Mayflower driver. He also owned an antique and used furniture business on Central Avenue in Dubuque. Ervin is survived by his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Nancy (Joel) Wells, of Davis, Illinois, and Barb (Gerald) Clutter, of Rockford Illinois; two sons, Duane (Dee) Rupnow, of Emmett, Idaho, and Dennis (Judy McConnell/special friend) Rupnow, of East Dubuque, Illinois; a sister, Ramona Rupnow, of Waukegan, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Betty Rupnow, of Lena Illinois; his former wife, Lois L. Pitz of Dubuque, Iowa; Margaret’s special sons, Jim (Lisa) Petsche, of Monona, Iowa, and Steve (Judy) Petsche of Marquette, Iowa; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Mary (Meythaler) Rupnow and three brothers, Virgil, Elwyn, and Nathan (Ole).
