Frances P. Chaffee

Hazel Green, Wisconsin Frances P. Chaffee, 76, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014, at St. Patrick's Church in Benton with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Benton where the parish rosary will be at 3:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home before the service. Frances was born on July 3, 1937, in Benton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Francis B. and Wilda (Hocking) Richardson. She married Kenneth L. Chaffee on May 4, 1957, in Shullsburg. He preceded her in death. Frances loved genealogy, dancing, bowling and playing euchre. She was extremely family oriented; family was her #1 priority. Frances was very outgoing and never let "grass grow under her feet." She was the most "feisty" person you will ever meet. Survivors include a daughter, Delora (fiancée Kevin Schneider) Belanger, of Dubuque; six sons, Kenneth (Sandy) Chaffee, of Sheboygan, James (girlfriend Laura Tiedemann) Chaffee, of Hazel Green, John Chaffee, of Prairie du Chien, Mike (Kelly) Chaffee, of Granger, Iowa, Francis (Robin) Chaffee, of Dubuque, and Joseph (Wendy) Chaffee, of Plainfield, Illinois; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pam (Mike) Scarff, of Protem, Arkansas, and Cornelia Rolouff, of Patch Grove; and a brother Scott (girlfriend Angie) Richardson, of Potosi. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Sue and a stillborn infant sister. A Frances P. Chaffee Memorial Fund has been established.
