Francis was born on February 27, 1930, in Glen Haven, Wisconsin, the son of Mathias and Anna (Hochhausen) Rauch. He married Helen McCartney on November 5, 1955. Francis worked at John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works retiring in 1984. Francis served two years in the Army, one year during the Korean Conflict. He was Mercy Hospital’s first cardiac catheterization patient in 1976. Francis enjoyed hunting, fishing, making crafts, and tinkering in his garage. He was an avid Packer fan. Helen & Francis enjoyed traveling, spending 14 winters in Arizona. They also enjoyed gambling. His huge family was his life. He especially enjoyed receiving “high fives” from his great and great-great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Helen, of Dickeyville; three daughters, Charlene (Neil) Kieler, of Dickeyville, Debra (Darryl) Moore, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Bonnie (Don) Stoewer, of Dubuque, Iowa; a son, Gary (Mary) McCartney, of Hazel Green; a sister, Jeanette Reiser, of Bloomington, Wisconsin; and two brothers, Gerald Rauch of Glen Haven, Wisconsin, and Edward (Kay) Rauch, of Dubuque, Iowa; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathias and Anna; five brothers, Vincent, Richard, Joseph, Edmund, and James; a sister, Irene Menne; his mother and father-in-law, Ralph and Appolonia; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. We wish to thank Dr. Hermann, Dr. Mozena, and their staffs for their care and thoughtfulness. Many thanks also to Grant County Hospice for all their help and support throughout his illness.
