SPRINGFIELD, Missouri -- Gary P. Perkins, of Springfield, MO, an avid Packers fan, went to his Lord on August 14, 2015. He was a 22-year cancer survivor, who finally succumbed to complications of cancer treatment. Gary was born in Benton, WI, on August 9, 1939, to William Percy Perkins and Jeanette Cook Perkins. At the time of his death, Gary was surrounded by his loving wife, Rose; his sister, Judy; his brother-in-law, Steve; his son, Pat; and daughter, Jolynn. Gary is preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Ruth. Gary is survived by his devoted wife, Rose; his sister, Judy; five children; five grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and many devoted friends and neighbors. Gary served his country in the U.S. Navy and worked as a sales representative for paper companies which led him to carpentry. After he retired, he moved to Missouri with his wife, Rose. He loved woodworking and writing. Gary crafted numerous items from toys to furniture and is a published author. For all his talents and achievements, he remained a humble and unassuming man. Services will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2015, at the Benton Bible Church. He will be laid to rest in the Primitive Methodist Cemetery in Benton, his place of birth and where his heart has and will forever call home. Go Packers!
