Genevieve was born August 28, 1926, in Lancaster, Wisconsin, the daughter of Edward and Amelia (Kilburg) Funk. She married Cyril Schaefer April 12, 1947, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Tennyson, Wisconsin. She was an avid Cub fan, and bowled for many years in Lancaster. Genevieve was also a member of the 3rd Order of Mount Carmel. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Stephen) Loeffelholz, of Bellevue, Iowa, and Margaret (Peggy) Wurth, of Platteville, Wisconsin; a son, Stephen (Vickie) Schaefer, of La Crescent, Minnesota; a brother, Donald (Nell) Funk, of Lancaster; a sister-in-law, Nola Funk, also of Lancaster; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril; a son-in-law, Marvin Wurth; and a brother, J. Milton Funk. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Southwest Health Center for their care and concern.
