Geraldine A. “Gerry” Wilson, 89, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2024, at St. Francis de Sales Church, Hazel Green, Wisconsin, with Rev. Peter Auer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3 at Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, Wisconsin, where there will be a Parish Rosary Service at 3:40 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9-10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home in Cuba City.

Gerry was born to August and Rachel (Dixon) Becker on July 8, 1935 in Cuba City, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Wilson on June 26, 1956. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2015.

Gerry was a devoted mother and grandmother, raising her eight children and then babysitting for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were a source of joy for her. She loved all family get-togethers, including many family camping trips over the years. Gerry also enjoyed gardening, flowers and watching the birds. Her faith was very important to her. She was a dedicated member of St. Francis de Sales Church and volunteered with the CCW.

Gerry is survived by six children, Gwen Harwick, of Hazel Green, Bill (Linda) Wilson, of Freeport, IL, Jan (Sam) Miller, of Galena, IL, Greg (Ellen) Wilson, of Soldotna, AK, Rod (Sue) Wilson, of LaValle, WI, and James (Terri) Wilson, of Hazel Green; a daughter-in-law, Lori Wilson, of Hazel Green; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Carolyn Goedken and Patty Heiderscheit; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Becker.

Gerry was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Robert and Gary Wilson; five siblings, Forest (Bertha) Becker, Dorothy (Cyril) Klein, August (Marion) Becker, Rita (Charles) Morgan and Delvin Becker; a brother-in-law, Lyle Heiderscheit; and a son-in-law, Ron Harwick.

In lieu of flowers, a Geraldine A. Wilson Memorial Fund has been established. Memorials may be sent in Geraldine’s name to Hospice of Dubuque or to the funeral home at 123 N. Jackson St., Cuba City, WI 53807.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mary Koenigs and her staff at Galena Medical Associates, Hospice of Dubuque and Gerry’s devoted friend, Rita Fleege. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gerry’s caregivers, Amy, Margo, Nikki, Stacy, Kate, Kathy, Joyce, Linda, and all family members for their compassionate care of Gerry.
