Cuba City, Wisconsin Gregory L. Wiest, 74, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Friday, February 13, 2015, at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kieler with Rev. Bernard Rott and Rev. Bart Timmerman officiating. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Monday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center before the service. Greg was born on June 24, 1940, in Cassville, Wisconsin, the son of Kenneth and Ann (Pellock) Wiest. He married Ann Berning on September 24, 1966. She preceded him in death on January 22, 2012. Greg will be remembered and loved for many things in his life. He worked at and retired from John Deere after 30 years. He made so many lasting friendships from there. He coached basketball for 35 years at many different levels. He influenced, inspired, and touched the lives of hundreds of young men during that time. Greg was a devoted husband and father. He was married to our mother, Ann, for 45 years and helped raise two young boys to adulthood. During his last 14 years, he also took a special interest in his three grandsons, Lucas, Nick, and Jacob. When he wasn't golfing, bowling, playing board games and taking them out to eat at Denny's, he was talking about them to his great many friends in the Tri State area. He also loved the Wisconsin Badgers, Chicago Cubs and the John Havlicek led Boston Celtics. Most of all he loved being around his family and friends. To the best father, grandfather, husband, coach, and friend we could ask for...he will be remembered and missed. Survivors include two sons, Michael (Lisa) and Kevin (Cindy), both of Rochester, Minnesota; a special friend, Patricia Gile, of Cuba City; two brothers, Rod (Marilyn) Wiest, of Milwaukee, and Douglas Wiest, of Portland, Oregon; three grandchildren, Lucas, Nicolas and Jacob; a sister-in-law, Joanne Pellock, of Cassville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dick. Memorials may be given to the Greg & Ann Wiest Scholarship Fund. A special thanks to Gary and Alice Schmitt and Mark and Adele Hendricks for being my special travel companions.
