Harry B. Lawrence

October 24, 1937 — August 10, 2015

Benton, Wisconsin Harry B. Lawrence, 77, of Benton, Wisconsin, died Monday, August 10, 2015, at home surrounded by his family. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2015, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Benton with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10:15 a.m. Friday at the church. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Benton is in charge of arrangements. Harry was born on October 24, 1937, in Willow Springs, Wisconsin, the son of William "Roy" and Goldie "Marie" (White) Lawrence. He married Mary Kay Timmerman on September 12, 1959. Harry was a great mechanic for many years, owning and operating Harry's 66 in Benton. Later he worked at Dellabella Motors in Cuba City and Gratz Motors in Mineral Point. Harry also enjoyed working with his friends at Tri-State Auto Auction and was a proud member of the Benton Fire Department for 30 years. More than anything else, Harry was a family man. His best days were spent with his wife, kids and grandkids, whether it was just talking over coffee, fishing trips, Packer games or vacations. Many good times were had playing cards with his buddies while enjoying the occasional stinger. Everyone will certainly miss his grin. Survivors include his wife, Mary Kay; a daughter, Susan (Richard) Faust, of Milwaukee; five sons, Dana Lawrence, of Bellevue, Iowa, Steven (Lynn) Lawrence, of Big Bend, Wisconsin, Todd Lawrence, of Middleton, Wisconsin, Michael (Dena) Lawrence, of Middleton, Wisconsin, and Rick (Lisa) Lawrence, of Benton; a sister, Eva (Carlan) Koehn, of Scales Mound, Illinois; three brothers, David (Mary) Lawrence, of Shullsburg, Jack (Betty) Lawrence, of Powder Springs, Georgia, and Reggie (Dar) Lawrence, of Dickeyville; twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, LeRoy and Leonard. A Harry B. Lawrence Memorial Fund has been established. A special thank you to Dr. Mark Moore, Dr. Mark Janes, and to Jennifer, Stephanie and the nurses at Hospice of Dubuque.
