Platteville, Wisconsin Howard A. Mutert, 60, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died Monday, May 24, 2021. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2021, at Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, Wisconsin, with Rev. Bill Vasey officiating. Services will be live streamed through Facebook on the funeral home page. A public visitation for friends will be held from 9-10:45 a.m. Friday at the funeral home before the service. The family requests you utilize masks during the duration of your visit and that you practice social distancing. Howard was born on September 14, 1960, in Illinois, the son of Leroy and Shirley (Wintjen) Mutert. He was employed as both a farmer and truck driver. Howard loved fishing and hunting. He enjoyed tractor pulls, including working as a flagman. He also enjoyed driving truck and going to the races. Howard was a man who loved the simple things and was friendly to everyone he met. Survivors include his stepdaughters, Jennifer (Mike Hanna) Hicks, Browntown, WI, and Jalysa (Randy Joslin) Hicks, Darlington, WI; a stepson, Jonathan Hicks, New Diggings, WI; four sisters, Mary (Mike) Stymiest and Karen Harris, both of Platteville, Tondia Mutert, Belmont, WI; and Peggy (Jayde) Fischer, Sidney, Montana; a brother, TJ Mutert, Shullsburg, WI; and three grandchildren, Andrew, Taylor and Kellie. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patti Stanton; a niece, Cayla Mutert; and a nephew, Maddox Farrey. The family wishes to thank the local emergency personnel who assisted at the scene. In lieu of flowers, a Howard A. Mutert Memorial Fund has been established.
