Platteville, Wisconsin James C. "Jim" Hinderman, 81, of Platteville, Wisconsin, formerly of Cuba City died Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at home. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish and Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home before the service. Jim was born on January 11, 1933, in Smelser Township, Wisconsin, the son of Bernard "Ben" and Kathryn "Kate" (Lenstra) Hinderman. He married Eleanor "Ellie" Myers on August 11, 1953, at St. Patrick's Church in Dubuque. Jim farmed in the Cuba City area for his entire life. Jim was a lifetime member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, served on its parish council, was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #765, a Fourth Degree Member of the Father Mazzuchelli Assembly #1202, a member of the NFO, and served as Smelser Township Chairman. Jim enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities, dancing, bowling, playing horseshoes, playing cards and watching the Cubs and Packers. Survivors include his wife, Ellie; four daughters, Linda (Dan) Osterhaus, of Bloomington, Diane (Ken) Tranel, of Cuba City, Carolyn (Mike) Bierman, of Bloomington, and Rose (Jim) Bierman, of Lancaster; three sisters, Florence Pahnke, of Cuba City, Henrietta Jones, of Platteville, and Katherine "Katie" Klinger, of Platteville; fifteen wonderful grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren and two on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, James B. Hinderman; a granddaughter, Danielle Osterhaus; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Marie Hinderman, Raymond and Irma Hinderman and Harold and Salena Hinderman; and four brothers-in-law, Alvin Tashner, Henry Pahnke, Merle Jones and Paul Klinger. A James C. "Jim" Hinderman Memorial Fund has been established.
