Cuba City, WI James F. "Jim" Kraus, 83, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died peacefully Saturday, June 16, 2018, at home. Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home before the service. Jim was born on November 13, 1934, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Peter and Mildred (Moran) Kraus. He married Karen Hanson on January 4, 1955. Jim served as a Marine for a year during the Korean Conflict and with the National Guard for 14 years. He worked at the Dubuque Packing Company for 21 years and for Tri State Tours for 32 years. Jim loved his family. He was the best dad in the world and very much loved his wife, Karen. Survivors include his wife, Karen; his son, James (Holly) Kraus, of Dardenne Prairie, MO; his daughters, Jamie (Jim) Bruner, of Shelbyville, KY, Robin Loney, of Osceola, IN, Kelly (Tom) Strong, of White Bear Lake, MN, Jessy (Larry) Beinborn, of Cuba City, and Stacy (John) Scheller, of Arden Hills, MN; two sisters-in-law, Charlene Kraus and Billie (Kenny) Rolwes, both of Dubuque, IA; thirteen grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Jim Loney; two brothers, Bill and John; a sister-in-law, Gert Kraus; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Nancy Wells; and a niece, Monica Ehlers. A James F. "Jim" Kraus Memorial Fund has been established.
