Benton, Wisconsin James M. "Jim" Richardson, 73, of Benton, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, with Rev. Rodney Johnson officiating. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, and from 9-10 a.m. on Wednesday before the service. Burial will be at a later date. Jim was born on June 14, 1938, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He was adopted at 18 months of age by Rueben and Gladys Richardson and grew up on a farm in rural Spring Green. At age 15 he started working for Frank Lloyd Wright on his farm in Spring Green. That was a job he was very proud to have. Throughout life he farmed and worked for Ladd Implement, until finding the job he loved, which was truck driving. He worked at Art Pape Transfer in Dubuque for 34 years until retiring in 2011. He loved antique tractors, boating, camping, and the Green Bay Packers. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandpa. The little ones meant the world to him. He loved to tease all his grandchildren. He married his wife, Lou Ann on September 1, 1984. Survivors include his wife, Lou Ann; six children, Rebecca (Dave) Henke, of Wahoo, Nebraska, Terri (Mike) Donovan, of Streamwood, Illinois, Allen (Kelly) Richardson, of Brodhead, Wisconsin, Sheila (Joel) Jacobson, of Johnsburg, Illinois, Lori (Steve) Hanson, of Spring Green, Wisconsin, and Traci (Jeff) Calvert, of Hazel Green; five stepchildren, Tressa (Bob) Miller, of Benton, Tonya Hoag, of Dubuque, Tara (Tony) Callan, of Hazel Green, Trina Brauhn, of Dubuque, and Tanner (Alisha) Hoag, of Germany; a sister, Mary Jacobsen, of Richland Center, Wisconsin; 28 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Christian Schultheis and staff, the 3rd and 4th floor skilled nursing staff at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, the Hazel Green EMS, and the Benton First Responders. In lieu of flowers, a James M. Richardson Memorial Fund has been established.
