Benton, Wisconsin James W. "Jim" Sysko, 64, of Benton, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Benton with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. Friday at the church where the parish wake service will be at 1:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-9:55 a.m. Saturday at the church before the service. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Benton is in charge of arrangements. Jim was born on December 30, 1951, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the son of James J. and Dorothy (Larsen) Sysko. He married Myrna A. McCrea on November 11, 1972, at St. Patrick's Church in Benton. He owned and operated Sysko's Bar, Sysko's Sports Books & Videos, and Sysko's Floor Sanding. Jim enjoyed attending his children's, grandchildren's, and family members' sporting events. He liked to travel and hunt and spent a lot of time with his chocolate lab, Cocoa. Jim would always lend a helping hand to anyone or share a quick story. Jim was actively involved in the Benton community throughout his life having served on the Benton Fire Department, Benton School Board, Benton Booster Club, Benton Alumni Association and Village of Benton Board. Survivors include his wife, Myrna; a son, Travis (Brandy), of New Glarus; a daughter, Mollie (Josh Virtue), of Galena; a brother, Dave (Jean Ann), of Benton; his mother-in-law, Phoebe McCrea, of Benton; three grandchildren, Tucker, Kennedy and Harper; and a supportive extended family. He was preceded in death by a son, Josh; his parents; a sister, Carol Farrey; and his father-in-law, Harold McCrea.
