December 24, 1923 — February 6, 2016

Cuba City, Wisconsin Janet M. Deiter, 92, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Southwest Health Center Hospital in Platteville. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 9-10:45 a.m. Thursday at the church before the service. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is in charge of arrangements. Janet was born on December 24, 1923, in Cuba City, Wisconsin, the daughter of Charles and Edith (Pascoe) Latham. She married Merton B. Deiter on June 17, 1950, in Cuba City. Janet graduated from Cuba City High School in 1941 and Bayless Business College in 1942. She worked as a secretary for H&W Motor Express for two years and for the Cuba City High School for seven years. Janet was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 45 years, St. Rose of Lima Council of Catholic Women, and served on the Cuba City Library Board. Survivors include her husband, Merton, of Cuba City; two daughters, Diane (William) Van Deest, of Platteville, and Judy (Brian) Christian, of Verona; two sons, Larry (Michele) Deiter, of Santa Cruz, CA, and Paul Deiter, of Dubuque; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Paul and Donald Latham. A Janet M. Deiter Memorial Fund has been established.
