Janice Kay Steinhoff

Cuba City, Wisconsin Janice K. Steinhoff, 73, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Saturday, January 20, 2018, unexpectedly on a Mexican Riviera cruise near San Pedro, California. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in Cuba City. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Cuba City. Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City. Friends may also call Monday from 9-10:15 a.m. at the church before the service. Janice was born on December 3, 1944, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the daughter of Oliver and Helen (Coulthard) Koester. She graduated from Scales Mound High School in 1962. Janice married her high school sweetheart, Gary Steinhoff, on June 6, 1964, at the Presbyterian Church in Scales Mound, IL. She prepared taxes both out of her home and for Southwest Accounting in Lancaster. She also worked at Lands' End for twenty years. Janice was very active in the church, which was very important to her. She served on many committees through the United Methodist Women. Janice was a member of the Red Hat Club, and she enjoyed playing cards with her lady friends. Janice was an avid CUBS FAN. She and Gary actually got to attend a playoff game when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016. Janice enjoyed traveling, loved spending time with her family and absolutely adored her three granddaughters. Survivors include her husband, Gary Steinhoff; two daughters, Debbie Tullis, Indianapolis, IN, and Dawn (John) Gile, Platteville; two sisters, Eunice (John) Vondra, Warren, IL, and Connie (Jerry) Roberts, Scales Mound, IL; one brother, Dennis Koester, Elroy, IL; two sisters-in-law, Priscilla Edge, Shullsburg, Marian Koester, Elizabeth, IL; and three granddaughters, Tianna Gile, Jocelyn Gile, and Paige Tullis. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jim Koester; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Beauf and Beulah Steinhoff, Cliff and Dorothy Steinhoff, Ron and Ann Steinhoff, and Bill Edge; a niece, Natalie Vondra; and a nephew, Tim Koester. A Janice K. Steinhoff Memorial Fund has been established.
