Janice Micnhimer Reed Hill

June 16, 1941 — November 28, 2009

Janice Micnhimer Reed Hill, 68, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, formerly of Juneau, Alaska, died Saturday, November 28, 2009, at The Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa. There will be no local visitation or services. A celebration of life will be held in Juneau, Alaska, after the first of the year. There will also be a celebration of life in July 2010 in her childhood home of Hillsboro, Illinois. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is in charge of arrangements. Janice was born on June 16, 1941, in Reno, Illinois, the daughter of Dwight and Mabel (Finke) Micnhimer. She moved to Alaska with her family on October 18, 1970, where she lived until her retirement from the State of Alaska in 1999. During her career in the state of Alaska she worked in private law and within the court system including the district attorney and attorney general’s office. After her retirement she traveled for a short time, living in Alaska, Illinois, and Wisconsin until her death. Family and faith were her main priorities in life, along with the love she had for her dogs. Janice loved sewing, crafting, and making quilts for her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Ammon Hill, of Mountain Home, Arkansas; two daughters, Beth (Tim) Andes-Young, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, and Lori (Teil) Buzzell, of Juneau, Alaska (AK); a sister, Frances Brewer, of Greenville, Illinois; two brothers, Dwight Micnhimer, of Hillsboro, Illinois, and Vallee (Lucy) Micnhimer, of Mohave Valley, Arizona; three grandchildren, Danti, Tyne and Teilhard; a stepdaughter, Ella �"Leah Hill Neuman; two step-grandchildren, Callie and Zachary; and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a stillborn son, Thomas Andrew Reed Jr; two sisters, Louise Jarman and Phyllis Mast; and a brother, Delbert Micnhimer. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Southeast Alaska Animal Medical Center, 8231 Glacier Highway, Juneau, Alaska 99801 or to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 2600 Network Blvd, Suite 300, Frisco, Texas 75034 (online donations may be submitted at www.nationalbreastcancer.org). A special thank you to Dr. Schope and The Finley Hospital ICU staff for their compassion, care and understanding during the past ten days. A thank you also to family, Pastors Gary and Neal and the Galena Bible Church family, and friends for their prayers, cards and visits.
