Jean L. Malone

July 15, 1942 — November 17, 2016

The Villages, Florida Jean L. Malone, 74, of The Villages, Florida, passed to eternal life Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. Jean was born July 15, 1942, in Janesville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Austin C. and Margaret A. (Hess) Baxter. She married Patrick I. Malone on June 29, 1963, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City. They had five beautiful children. Jean loved everybody and everybody loved Jean. Jean was a doer. While raising five children she was also a successful realtor, parishioner, and volunteer. She had an unforgettable and infectious laugh and smile that lit up the room. She cherished her family, her Christian faith and her friends. Her sisters were her best friends. She was known as "Aunty Wonderful" to her nieces and nephews and as “Grandma Wonderful” to her eleven grandchildren. She was most proud of her husband and five children. She supported them in everything they did. One of her favorite pastimes was spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews at “Camp Malone” at Apple Canyon Lake. She will be missed by all. Survivors include her husband, Patrick; two daughters, Debra (Craig Brown) Malone, of Galena, IL, and Lisa (Matt) Byrne, of Aurora, IL; three sons, Steven (Kay Brink) Malone, of Apple River, IL, Ronald (Tina) Malone, of Dubuque IA, and Jeffrey Malone, of Kenosha, WI; five sisters, Judy Welch and Joan Rooney of Dubuque, IA, Janet (Arnie) Roper, of Platteville, Joyce (Dennis) McPhail, of Darlington, and Julie (Bill) Snyder, of Wayzata, MN; a sister-in-law, Mary Baxter, of Green Bay, WI; and eleven grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2016, at St. Patrick's Church in Benton with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2016, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 1:45 p.m. Friends may also call after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the church before the service. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Baxter.
