Jedwin L. “Jed” Palfrey, 37, of Shullsburg, Wisconsin, died Sunday, September 6, 2009, at home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2009, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City with Pastor Nelson Perkinson officiating. Burial will be in the Leadmine Primitive Methodist Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Thursday and after 8:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Jed was born on November 8, 1971, in Darlington, Wisconsin, the son of Frederick and Dolly (Rowe) Palfrey. He was an avid bowhunter and loved to hunt morel mushrooms. Jed was a jack of all trades and a great handyman. He was a talented artist who had a very creative mind. Survivors include his fiancé, Crystal Zaring, of Shullsburg; a son, Brooks Guif, of Beaver Dam; his mother, Dolly Palfrey, of Shullsburg; four sisters, Delva (Don Gille) Palfrey, of Shullsburg, Darleen (Richard) Tanner, of Evansville, Daphne Stranek, of Muscoda, and Doreen (J.D.) Doyle, of Shullsburg; and five brothers, James (B.J.) Palfrey, of Evansville, John (Becky) Palfrey, of New Diggings, Joe (Jackie) Palfrey, of Muscoda, Jerry (Lori) Palfrey, of Warrentown, MO, and Jay (Brenda) Palfrey, of Shullsburg. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick in October 2008, and his brother, Jeff in 1989.
