Jerome C. Simon

Jerome C. “Jerry” “Hopper” Simon, 61, passed away of natural causes at his home in Cuba City on January 24, 2010. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flangan officiating. Friends may call from 9:00-10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Jerry was born on April 17, 1948, in Cuba City, Wisconsin, the second born of seven children to Jerome and Eileen (Hoppenjan) Simon. Jerry lived and worked in Madison, Wisconsin, for many years. In his youth, Jerry loved to play sports and water ski. He enjoyed watching football, particularly the Green Bay Packers, and he was an avid outdoorsman, who especially loved to hunt and fish. Survivors include his daughter, Stacy Simon, of Port Orange, Florida; a grandson, Dylan Simon, of Wisconsin; his mother, Eileen Simon, of Cuba City; his sisters and brothers, Karen Sewall, of Missouri, Kay (Greg) Huizenga, of Arizona, Jan (Monty) Huizenga, of South Dakota, Ken Simon, of Iowa, Joan (Brett) Barnett, of California, and Jim (Lisa) Simon, of California. He is further survived by aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his son, US Marine SSGT Chad Jerome Simon; his father, Jerome Simon: and a brother-in-law, David Sewall.
