Jill E. Ruskell

Hazel Green, Wisconsin Jill E. Ruskell, 54, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Manor Care Health Center in Dubuque. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City with Pastor Rod Johnson officiating. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Jill was born on December 8, 1958, in Cuba City, Wisconsin, the daughter of Dalen and Arlene (Ellis) Ruskell. She graduated from Southwestern High School in 1977 and worked several years as manager at Stuarts Ladies Apparel in Kennedy Mall. She then worked at Eagle Window & Door as office receptionist for many years until her medical retirement in 2011. Her greatest passion in life was doing things for her son and her many nieces and nephews. She loved to do crafts, go to craft shows and go shopping with friends and family. She enjoyed spending time with her dog Tanner. Jill married David Vaassen at their home near Kieler on September 28, 2006. Surviving are her son, Jason, of Madison; her husband, David, of Hazel Green; her mother, Arlene Ruskell, of Louisburg; her sisters, Debra (Reg) Droessler, of Cuba City, Lori (David) Kennicker, of Casper, Wyoming, and Becky (Tim) Fields, of Dickeyville; her brother, Tom (Dawn) Ruskell, of Schleswig, Iowa; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norbert and Rose Vaassen, of Dickeyville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Dalen Ruskell; her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Hilda (Feist) Ellis; her paternal grandparents, Dale and Dorothy (Martens) Ruskell; and three nephews, Shaun and Jonas Droessler, and Austin Ruskell.
