Joan T. Kieler, 87, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, died Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2018, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sinsinawa with Rev. Kenneth Frisch officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-10:15 a.m. Friday at the church before the service. Joan was born on May 17, 1930, in Fairplay, Wisconsin, the daughter of Arthur and Clara (Placke) Budden. She married Clair Kieler on February 23, 1949. They farmed in the Kieler and Hazel Green area all of their lives. He preceded her in death on November 2, 2013. Joan was a mother first. She had five sons, all are in the agricultural industry. Mark farms in Darlington, Mike (Kathy) is a large animal veterinarian in Spring Green, Carl farms in Hazel Green, Matt (Joan) is a AI Technician for Select Sires in Hazel Green, and John (Linda) farms the family farm in Hazel Green. Joan was an excellent cook and housekeeper. She also milked cows and drove the baler or anything else that needed to be done. Joan was a very good artist who painted many fantastic oil paintings. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Kenny Kieler, of Darlington, Joey Kieler, of Platteville, Heidi (Jeff) Ferguson, of Boston, MA, Ashley Kieler, of Madison, Dan (Molly) Kieler, of Hazel Green, Jenny (Eric) Salis, of Hazel Green, Nathan (Ashley) Kieler, of Belmont, Katelyn (Michael) Timmerman, of Cuba City, and Jacob and Luke Kieler, of Hazel Green; seven great-grandchildren, Hallie, Hannah and Harper Salis, Landon and Alayna Kieler, Sawyer Kieler and Theo Ferguson; a brother, Richard (Kay) Budden, of Hazel Green; and two sisters, Lois (Cletus) Hilby, of Menominee, Illinois, and Ellen Timmerman, of Cuba City. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Roger Budden. A Joan T. Kieler Memorial Fund has been established.
