John Charles Patterson

Cuba City, Wisconsin John C. Patterson, 73, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2011 at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, Wisconsin, with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the St. Rose Church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, where the Scripture Wake Service will be held at 3:45 p.m. Friends may also call Friday morning, January 14, from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home before the service. He was born on September 4, 1937, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Shelliam) Patterson. John grew up on the family farm. He married the former Ruth A. Loeffelholz on September 5, 1964 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City. John worked at the Dubuque Pack and ran the Patterson Carpet Cleaning business. He was a great outdoorsman and was a big time goose and duck hunter. John loved his hunting dog, Katie, and his cats, Mr. Tibbs and Big White. He raced motorcycles for 8 years, and was a member of the AMA American Motorcycle Association. Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of Cuba City; a daughter, Michelle Patterson, of Dodgeville, Wisconsin; a brother, James (Janet) Patterson, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin; four nephews, Brett (Alice), Dirk, and Kevin Patterson, and Brian Loeffelholz; and one niece, Jody (Marty) Kearney; and five great-nieces and nephews, Cole, Amanda, Katie, Gracie, and Mya. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Patterson; and a brother, Allan Patterson. The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Moore, the Oncology Dept. at Mercy Hospital, and Hospice of Dubuque.
