Cuba City, Wisconsin John J. Hoeper, 67, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Thursday, April 14, 2011, at home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2011, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Elk Grove Township. Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City. Friends may also call from 9-10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home before the service. John was born on September 15, 1943, in Cuba City, Wisconsin, the son of Clarence and Cecilia (Gille) Hoeper. He married Susan Voegeli on September 8, 1978, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. John attended Red School, an elementary country schoolhouse, and graduated from Cuba City High School in 1962. He farmed until 1975 and then worked with his brother, Dick, of Dick Hoeper & Sons Construction. John loved gardening and yard work. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Susan; three daughters, Heather (Ernie) Pearson, of Madison, Wisconsin, Kelli (Scott) Ostert, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, and Lacey Hoeper, at home; a sister, Diane (Mike) Stanton, of Cobb, Wisconsin; two brothers, David (Mary Kay) Hoeper, of Cuba City, and Dick (Barb) Hoeper, of Belmont; five grandchildren, Izabelle, Seren, Carter, Lincoln, and Graham; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; and an infant sister.
