Joyce H. Heim

Benton, Wisconsin Joyce H. Heim, 75, of Benton, Wisconsin, died Friday, May 13, 2011, at home surrounded by her family. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Benton with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Monday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Benton. Friends may also call from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home before the service. Joyce was born on February 25, 1936, in Dunbarton, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Berniece (Wickler) Ahlstrom. She married Paul Heim on June 22, 1957. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1990. Joyce watched many children from town along with her grandkids. She loved reading, doing crafts and quilting, gardening and her flower beds. Joyce loved spending time with her family and her siblings. She looked forward to the Ahlstrom family reunion every summer. Survivors include three daughters, Heidi (Randy) Hillary, of Hazel Green, Diane (Mark) Griffiths, of Benton, and Lorelei (Gary) Freitag, of Taylorville, Illinois; a son, Cory (Hollie) Heim, of Sherrill, Iowa; four sisters, Helen (Dave) Hocking, of Benton, Lillian Rowley and Shirley (Duane) Hastings, both of Shullsburg, and Beverly (Jerry) Prine, of Rockford, Illinois; three brothers, John (Barb) Ahlstrom, of Warren, Illinois, Stanley (Mary) Ahlstrom, of Geneseo, Illinois, and Donald (Peggy) Ahlstrom, of Shullsburg; eleven grandchildren, Josh Hillary, Amanda Hillary, Christopher Hillary, Brandon Heim, Danielle Russell, Courtney Griffiths, Cody Griffiths, Devon Freitag, Andy Freitag, Cole Heim, and Ella Heim; six great-grandchildren, Drew, Hannah, Brookelyn, Bailey, Izabelle and James; and nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilbur and Velma Heim; a brother-in-law, Don Rowley; and an infant daughter, Lisa Heim. A special thank you to Dr. Herman, Tony Heiear and the oncology department, and Hospice of Dubuque, especially Mary.
