Platteville, Wisconsin Mary “Joyce” Hoppenjan, 84, of Platteville, Wisconsin, formerly of Cuba City, died on Monday, January 7, 2019, at her daughter’s home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Elk Grove Township. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 3:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church before the service. Joyce was born on July 13, 1934, in Smelser Township, the daughter of George A. and Marie M. (Wedig) Vosberg. Joyce graduated from Cuba City High School and attended vocational school in Madison. Following graduation she lived and worked in Madison. She married Richard V. Hoppenjan on September 3, 1955, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City. They farmed in Elk Grove Township. Joyce was a member of St. Peter’s Parish in rural Cuba City and served on the St. Peter’s Altar Society. She loved gardening, reading and watching hummingbirds. Joyce enjoyed attending her grandkids events and watching the Green Bay Packers. She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Hoppenjan, Benton, WI, Debora Hoppenjan and Mary Kay Hoppenjan, both of Platteville, WI, and Paula (Mike) Villarreal, Stevens Point, WI; three sons, Timothy (Connie) Hoppenjan, Spring Green, WI, Michael (Lana) Hoppenjan, Dodgeville, WI, and Roger (Debra) Hoppenjan, Cuba City, WI; her sister, Jean Puchalski, Milwaukee, WI; two brothers, David (Mary Jo) Vosberg, Valparaiso, IN, and Ronald (friend, Margaret Murray) Vosberg, Platteville, WI; two sisters-in-law, Mary Mildred (Richard) Sorenson, Madison, WI, and Jean (Terry) Cleary, Middleton, WI; a brother-in-law, Robert (Renee) Hoppenjan, Bellvue, IA; fifteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents, George and Marie Vosberg; a sister, Pauline Gratz; four sisters-in-law, Marilyn Vosberg, Eileen (Jerome) Simon, Ann Marie (Guerdon) Riechers, and Florence (Harry) Segerstrom; and four brothers-in-law, Eugene Puchalski, William Gratz, Harold Hoppenjan and Charles (Esther) Hoppenjan.
