Julie A. Lavacek

Hazel Green, Wisconsin Julie A. "Rabbit" Lavacek, 59, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, died Monday, October 5, 2015, at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. A Celebration of Life will be held a the New Diggings General Store at a later date. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is in charge of arrangements. Julie was born on Octoberr 18, 1955, in Fayette, Iowa, the daughter of Sherman and Ora Jean (Stanfield) Mapes. She married Robert G. "Bob" Lavacek on November 20, 1982, in Yuma, Arizona. Julie graduated from Senior High School and Clarke College in Dubuque. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Julie loved cats, riding motorcycles and doing charity runs with her husband Bob. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Shullsburg and the American Legion Riders District 3 of Southwest Wisconsin. Survivors include her husband, Robert, of Hazel Green; two daughters, Lisa J. Lavacek, of Benton, and Jamie C. Lavacek, of Hazel Green; two brothers, James (Susan) Mapes, of Fountain Hills, Arizona, and Richard (Mary) Mapes, of Spokane, Washington; one brother-in-law, six sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ora Jean and Sherman Mapes; a brother, Robert Mapes; and a sister, Carolyn Mapes.
